Creamer wins 1st major at U.S. Women's Open

07/11/2010 - Oakmont, PA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Paula Creamer poured in back-to-back birdies from the 14th hole in Sunday's final round and coasted from there to win the U.S. Women's Open.

Creamer earned her ninth LPGA Tour title and first major championship crown by closing with a two-under 69.

She was the lone player in red figures at Oakmont Country Club as she finished at three-under-par 281.

The 23-year-old has battled through a thumb injury, which required surgery earlier this year. Creamer wasn't sure she'd ever golf again after that, but this was her fourth start and her first win since.

The victory was Creamer's first since she claimed the 2008 Samsung World Championship.

Na Yeon Choi carded the second-best round of the week with a five-under 66 to finish at plus-one. Suzann Pettersen posted a 69 to join Choi in second place.

In Kyung Kim (68) took fourth place at two-over-par 286.
